A gantt chart is a type of bar chart that illustrates a project schedule, and helps to plan, coordinate, and track specific tasks in that project. The vertical axis shows all the tasks, phases, and milestones that make up the project, while the horizontal axis represents the total time span of the project, and is broken down into increments (month, week, and day of the week).
